Spring Chick Cupcakes

While I enjoy cake decorating, it often consumes a lot of time. I’ve found that decorating cupcakes is a quicker and equally adorable alternative, plus it helps with portion control!

Decorated Spring Chick Cupcakes

Creating these delightful Spring Chick Cupcakes is quite straightforward. You will require the following items:

* Yellow frosting

* Yellow sugar crystals

* Chocolate chips

* White frosting

* Orange frosting

* Toothpick

* Piping bag

* Round tip and closed star tip

Begin by applying an even layer of yellow frosting on top of each cupcake. You can either sprinkle yellow sugar crystals over the frosting or invert the cupcake and dip it into a plate filled with sugar crystals.

Position the chocolate chips upside down on the cupcake to represent the eyes. To add white dots, dip a toothpick in white frosting and carefully touch the chocolate chip where you’d like the highlight to appear—do this for both eyes.

For the beaks, use a round tip to pipe orange frosting. Alternatively, a leaf tip may also work. Squeeze an ample amount of orange frosting in a line where you want the beak, then pull up from the center while releasing pressure to create a pointed tip.

Next, switch to the closed star tip with the yellow frosting to craft little tufts of feathers atop the chicks’ heads.

Another fun option for the beaks is to use orange candy pressed directly into the cupcake.

Ultimately, there’s no wrong way to create these festive treats – they are simply charming!

    These are very cute and great for the kids. You could also use a carrot cupcake/muffin as the base and then carrot for the beak in the frosting.
