(Source: Education Market Association). This figure is startlingly high. Teachers are fundamental to our society as they educate the future generations. In an effort to motivate public contributions, Staples has partnered with Katy Perry to support classrooms facing shortages. Staples has pledged $1 million to DonorsChoose.org, encouraging donations online or within store locations to alleviate teachers’ financial burdens.

DonorsChoose.org is a nonprofit that has successfully funded over 700,000 classroom initiatives, positively impacting more than 18 million students nationwide. Currently, more than 70% of public schools in the U.S. have teachers seeking project funding. Over 2 million generous individuals have contributed more than $425 million to projects that resonate with them. This initiative particularly helps underprivileged communities and those in areas affected by disasters, providing necessary resources like art supplies, educational materials, field trips, and technology. Thanks to Staples’ $1 million donation and additional funds from patrons during the back-to-school season on DonorsChoose.org, we can collectively enhance educational experiences for teachers and students alike.

Enter for a chance to win a $50,000 Scholarship and Meet Katy Perry

From June 26 to September 10, fans who purchase $25 or more at Staples will receive a unique entry code printed on their receipts to join the sweepstakes at Staples.com/StaplesForStudents. One grand prize winner will receive a scholarship of $50,000 and a trip for two to Los Angeles to meet the talented Katy Perry. Additionally, four first prize winners and their guests will enjoy round-trip flights to Los Angeles, two nights of accommodation, and spending funds for a VIP Winners Celebration with Katy Perry.
